PRODUCED AND MIXED AT NASA LABS: I had the urge to hear this track again tonight that I Produced and Mixed at Nasa Labs.  It’s a remix of “Slums” from The Reavers.  Dates back to about 2007 ish.  This particular track features Akir, Privledge, Golden Child, Billy Woods and Vordul Mega.  It was on the “New York Times Mixtape” that came out right around when “Terror Firma” came out.  Always really liked how it ended up and the fact that Vordul was on one of my beats.  Only problem was I couldn’t find the CD and it essentially doesn’t exist online besides at my man Elmattic’s Tumblr and that was shown to me by my man Dali the Goat aka When Giants Meet.  Thanks to both of those cats.

Slums (Nasa Remix) - The Reavers (Akir, Priviledge, Goldenchild & Billy Woods)

PRODUCED AT NASA LABS, Pump Up the Volume by billy woods feat. L’Wren.  Happy to say I’m a part of one of the best albums of the year in the role of Producer.  History Will Absolve Me is the album and you can get it here at their site, http://backwoodzstudioz.com/history-will-absolve-me-is-out-now or Itunes or anywhere else on the planet.  The album has been covered by My Old Kentucky Blog, The Needle Drop and lots of other places you can find hip people.  This was actually mixed and mastered by my man Willie Green.  Features a chorus sung by L’Wren.  Billy breaks down African life under tyrannical leaders.  Doesn’t get much better then that.

Just updated my discography to include some recent projects and converted the whole thing over from a Document to a Spreadsheet so it’s easier to read.  Take a trip down memory lane with me there.  To get in touch about mixing/mastering/production/cameos email uncom37@yahoo.com.

Check out this Artist Profile video of King Ra by Serringe.  It features “Black & Gold” which was Produced & Mixed by Nasa at Nasa Labs.  Extended play of the track with a mini-music video edit is included.  Cool stuff.  Look out for King Ra’s “Foot On They Necks” Mixtape coming soon.

    What’s new in Nasa Labs?

Gotta admit, haven’t updated here as much as I would have liked lately.  Ideally I’d like to update on what’s happening in the studio daily, or semi-daily.  Been so busy, that’s it’s slipped my mind and while that sounds like a ploy, it’s actually true.  Here’s a run down:

    Mastering:

Finished Maticulous’ EP feat. Ruste Juxx, Rock of Heltah Skeltah and many more.

Finished a single for Sean Torae, Produced by Kev Brown that JUST dropped.  We’ll link to that tomorrow.

Finished Mallz’ new LP which is a personal favorite around here at Nasa Labs, look for it in March.

Finished singles for Angle’s dual albums, one of which is produced by DJ Purify (a previous Nasa Labs client)

About to dive into Passive65ive’s new full length “GoodAll” this week.

    Mixing:

Finished 3 tracks toward Adam Warlock’s EP including one that features Subtitle and Elucid

Finished 2 tracks toward Short Fuze & Nasa’s upcoming EP, with more on tap this coming week.

    Produced:

All new track for Acid Reign’s upcoming LP, mixing soon.

    Radio Imaging:

Finished 15 minute radio demo for a National Sports Host.  (Yes, I do that too)

All of this has gone down in the last 30 or so days, probably forgetting some other stuff to be honest.  Always something to do, that’s the way we like it here.

The Presence - Why? (40 plays)

Check out “Why?”, a new track by The Presence.  It was Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Nasa at Nasa Labs, NYC.  It can be found here with the entire “No Dough, No Show” compilation for free: www.nodoughnoshow.bandcamp.com.

09/16 Mixing - Paper Mache (Nasa Remix)

Working on this remix today of Masai Bey’s classic track Paper Mache.  It’s going to be for the Free DL from Uncommon Records, “Collector’s Bey”.  Just gotta make some tweaks and then mix it down.

    08/26 Black & Gold Mix/Recording

Laying out these tracks on the late night for a Nasa produced track for Ra Da Almighty out of NJ.  Will be mixing this down during the week.

    08/16 Mastering- “The Iomega Years”

Mastering a special Instrumental album from Nasa today called “The Iomega Years”.  Look for it exclusively from Uncommon Records on Bandcamp, at a name your price offer.  It will be out in about a month and features an unreleased beat from each year, from the first decade, of his production career (1999-2009)

    07/25 Billy Woods Track

Worked on a track for billy woods’ upcoming LP called “Pump Up the Volume” today.  billy may be coming through a big name cameo for the track that would be really ill.  But, even with out it, the track is really good.  I finished up all the drops for it today.  Look for Nasa production on this record from Backwoodz Hip-Hop.
